Able Art Group II

 In english The main goal of the project entitled Researching and Enabling Art (TuMaTa) is to develop professional methods for community-engaged art and science. The project pilots new types of collaboration and activity in Eastern Finland, to be carried on with varying themes and cross-disciplinary research aims over the years. In the years 2016-2018 the project focuses on the many forms of marginality and otherness and discusses and problematizes their definitions and definers from the perspectives of different kinds of minorities and immigration. The project is tightly connected with the art collective Able Art Group II, which is in the process of preparing a cross-disciplinary and inter-artistic production "Vallan kahva" in 2017. Another central goal of the project is the mitigation of prejudice, hate speech and hate acts towards multilinguality, multiculturality, otherness, disability and illness at the local and national levels. We wish to direct attention to the Able Art Group collective as a new artistic and scientific form of activity in order to activate other actors (e.g. associations and communal organizations) to join us in developing community-based methods of action across arts and sciences. Able Art Group II - integrated dance and art 2016-2017 I am a performing artist looking for You. Are you interested in dance, theater and music? Do you want to make new friends and discover new artistic collaborators from different arts and cultures from around the world? I am developing a new multicultural art project in Joensuu called the Vallan Kahva project. This project is especially directed for people with varying backgrounds, life experiences, cultures and first languages, interested in learning new skills and gaining experience in making theatre. I wish you welcome to join the next meeting of the project group at my work studio HURMA on Saturdays at 2-3.30 pm starting NOW and continuing 7th in January 2017. The group is admission free.
